PALM Corps, in partnership with Dan Church Aid (DCA), is implementing a four-year project dubbed “Enhancing food security and nutritional outcomes for vulnerable women and children in West Nile” in northern Uganda, in Bidibidi (Yumbe), Imvepi (Terego), and Rhino Camp (Terego & Madi Okollo) districts through a blended graduation approach. The project targets 10,000 direct participants in Yumbe, Terego, and Madi-Okollo. 

The overall goal of the project is to increase access to healthy and nutritious foods, awareness campaigns, and support to climate-resilient food production to contribute towards improved nutrition, enhanced food security, and resilience of vulnerable refugee and host female-headed households, particularly pregnant and lactating mothers and their children, in West Nile, Northern Uganda.



Project Outcome 1
Vulnerable refugee and host female headed households, particularly pregnant and lactating mothers and their children, have increased
access to healthy and nutritious foods and increased nutrition awareness.
Outputs 1.1
Vulnerable households, through conditional increased purchasing power to enable them access nutritious food.
1.2 Enhanced community capacity on surveillance and active case finding for acute malnutrition among children 6-23 months (SAM&MAM) and on maternal infant young child and adolescent nutrition (MIYCAN) modules.

Project Outcome 2
Vulnerable refugee and host female headed households, particularly pregnant and lactating mothers and their children, have increased
capacity to produce diversified and nutritious foods in an environmentally sustainable and climate-resilient way.
Outputs 2.1
Vulnerable refugee and host community households, particularly pregnant and lactating mothers, are capacitated to produce diversified and nutritious foods.

Project Outcome 3
Documentation, communication, knowledge generation and sharing to inform and enable evidence-based implementation, cross sector learning and replicability on conditional cash for nutrition and food security in refugees and host community settings.
